As well as the latest news from the Institution and local sections, this edition includes Steve Boshier’s presidential address, introducing his theme of Global Integration – and feature articles on asset management and mobile comms. read online

First Presidential Lecture

Join us to hear Nigel Worrall (Quantum Rail) speak about the ARTC level crossing monitoring project. This is an in-person lecture only in Adelaide and will be recorded for later viewing on our Vimeo channel. more info

ASPECT 2023

21-24 November 2023; Melbourne, Australia

All presenters have been told by the ASPECT 2023 committee that their abstracts have been chosen and the committee are working on the fine details of the conference programme which is expected to be announced soon.

All IRSE Younger Members (35 years old or younger or 10 years or less in the rail industry) are invited to apply for bursaries which will contribute towards their travel and accommodation costs.

Booking is expected to be open at the end of May / early June.  The committee recommend booking your travel and accommodation soon to get good prices – and they are looking forward to welcoming you in Melbourne Australia on 21 November. event page

Exam bookings for October

The IRSE Professional Exam will be open soon for bookings. 
Exam day is 7 October 2023 for all modules – you will be able to sit eitherCertificate (Module A) or up to three modules from Modules B, C and D.

York Section Dinner

Postponed until 2024

The York Section have announced that the next York Dinner will happen in Spring 2024 and are currently looking for a temporary venue away from the National Railway Museum while construction work is taking place.
