Membership - Election

  1. The Election of Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Members of Committee to fill vacancies in the Committee shall be conducted as follows.
  2. The Secretary shall, not less than 3 months before the date of the Annual General Meeting, send to every Member and Associate Member of the Hong Kong Section :
    (a) a list of the persons recommended by the Committee as suitable for election or re-election as Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Members of Committee to fill vacancies in the Committee; and (b) a Nomination Form.
  3. Any 10 valid Members or Associate Members of the Hong Kong Section may use the Nomination Form to nominate any eligible candidate (other than those already nominated by the Committee) for election or re-election as Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Members of Committee to fill vacancies in the Committee, provided that the written consent of the nominated person to stand for election has been obtained.
  4. The Nomination Form properly completed and signed must be received by the Secretary not less than 2 months before the date of the Annual General Meeting.
  5. The Committee shall add the names of such nominated persons to those in the list as recommended by the Committee. The Secretary shall send the complete list together with a Voting Ballot to every Member and Associate Member of the Hong Kong Section not less than 6 weeks before the date of the Annual General Meeting.
  6. The completed Voting Ballot must be received by the Secretary not less than 10 working days before the date of the Annual General Meeting.
  7. The Committee shall make the necessary arrangements for the counting of the Votes including the appointment of 2 External Facilitators.
  8. The Committee shall have the final decision in all matters relating to or arising from such election.
  9. The names of those persons successful in the election shall be announced in the Annual General Meeting, and the Chairman of the Annual General Meeting shall declare them as duly elected as Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Members of Committee.
  10. The term of service of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary shall be 2 years. The retiring Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary shall be eligible for re-election, provided that :
    (a) the Chairman shall not be re-elected for more than 2 successive terms;
    (b) the Vice-Chairman shall not be re-elected for more than 2 successive terms.
