IRSE International Convention 2024

AI in Railways – full day seminar – call for papers

14 June 2024, London UK

A limited number of speaker slots are still available for this event. If you are working with a direct application of AI in railways then we would like to hear from you. 

Please submit an extract of no more than 500 words giving an outline of your proposed paper and presentation no later than 15 April 2024. For full details email events@irse.org

Looking beyond the hype to real world examples of AI and machine learning being used in a railway setting, this seminar will hear from industry experts including academics, specialists and government advisors.

Subscription changes and contact details

LAST CHANCE TO CHANGE TO OR FROM E-MEMBERSHIP

Change to (or from) e-membership  online in ‘My Personal Details’ or contact us.  (Note: e-members do not receive hard copy IRSE News but are able to read the latest edition online by logging into the IRSE website). Changes to or from e-membership must be made this month.

Update your details and preferences online – login to the IRSE website and go to My Account (top right), My Personal Details (left menu) or contact us at  membership@irse.org or on +44 (0)20 7808 1186.

Following recommendations to Council by the Fees Working Group, there will be a nominal increase to fees in July, reflecting of the increased cost of delivering the services expected by members.

Please also contact us directly if:

  • you have retired recently, as you may be eligible for the concessionary rate  
  • you wish to set up a direct debit payment (UK bank accounts only)

IRSE Exam

160 candidates sat the Certificate (Module A) exam on Saturday 23 March.
Results will be moderated shortly and the data from the remote invigilation software is being reviewed.

Candidates will be emailed their results as soon as possible.

IRSE Merit Awards

Nominations for IRSE Merit Awards are welcomed from IRSE members and section committees. They are made to an IRSE member, member of staff, or another person to recognise meritorious service to the IRSE. This could be by making a substantial contribution to the Institution’s work over a period of time by organising activities or carrying out specific tasks which have furthered the IRSE’s aims and objectives.

If you want to nominate someone for an IRSE Merit Award, please read and complete the nomination form.
