Digital Signalling Upgrade Workshop: Beating the challenge

Cornwall Capacity Enabling Project

CCEP. This acronym refers to a recently commissioned project, Cornwall Capacity Enabling Project, which covers 19 miles between Truro and Hayle. The paper is the Cornwall Capacity Improvements to allow GWR to run a thirty-minute service through Cornwall. The speakers will be Paul Mundy (Network Rail), Dave Helliwell (Amey) and Andy Scarisbrick (Atkins).

Normalised deviance in railway safety

The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) independently investigates accidents to improve railway safety, and inform the industry and the public. This presentation will take us through some recent examples of RAIB investigations where groups of staff have collectively forgotten lessons previously hard learnt after accidents – it also has a piece on the Waterloo incident highlighting the common factors with Clapham.
