Park Signalling is hosting the 6th Presidential Paper at their facility in Stockport on 2 March starting at 18:00 UTC when Robin Lee MIRSE from Park Signalling will present his paper on ‘testing and chnges for digital signalling’.

ASPECT 2023 – take part

This year’s event provides an opportunity for your voice to be heard by IRSE members and others in the industry across the world.
Papers are welcomed – particularly those focusing on global integration, sustainability, asset management and rail investment within our ASPECT theme (automation, signalling, performance, equipment, control and telecommunications).
The deadline to submit abstracts for papers or innovation sessions (shark tank) is 20 February. For full details, click below. more info
IRSE Exam
4 March 2023
Booking has now closed for the IRSE Certificate in Railway Control Engineering Fundamentals on 4 March 2023 – we wish all candidates the best.
The next exam date has been announced as Saturday 7 October 2023. Candidates will be able to sit either the Certificate in Railway Control Engineering Fundamentals (open to members and non-members) or between one and three of Modules B, C and/or D (candidates must be members and have passed a module previously). Booking will open in April / May.
If you know someone who is interested in sitting module(s) B, C and/or D but is not a member, can you please ask them to join as soon as possible for them to enjoy the member benefits, including access to study materials. more info on membership
Annual Dinner

Booking is now open for the 2023 IRSE Annual Dinner which this year will be held at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London on 11 May.
Tickets cost £175 plus VAT per person; a table of 10 is £1750 plus VAT.

Western section presentation: A national safety taskforce update

Launched in 2019, the National Safety Taskforce has been looking at a wide variety of solutions for improving conditions on-site.
Donna Reigate, the current head of the taskforce will be talking through the innovation side of the solutions, with a particular focus on the use of drones. more info/register
Midlands & North Western Section: The Crewe Programme

The Crewe Programme is a £1.5bn Scheme to renew assets in the Crewe area, re-signal and re-control to MROC, with an enhanced track layout providing active provision for HS2 connection from the South and improvements to compliance within the station.
In this talk, Geoff Paley (Programme Construction Integration Engineer) will provide an overview of key projects that make up the Crewe Programme, including current status and thinking around the delivery strategy
