IRSE Bulletin – September 2023
Welcome to your September 2023 members’ e-bulletin.
Thank you for paying your 2023/4 membership subscription promptly. This helps us manage, develop and deliver an effective Institution for you and other members. A reminder of some of the benefits your membership gives you can be found on our website – here.
We are already looking towards 2024, with arrangements being put in place for nominations for Council – nominations will be open between 2 October and 1 December for vacancies for those who live/work in UK or AHKIN (Australasia/ Hong Kong/India/Netherlands). Further details will be announced next month.
I hope studies are going well for this year’s IRSE exam candidates – don’t forget to use all our study resources, including the videos in Vimeo.

Minor Railways Section S&T Technician of the Year
There is still time to nominate for this year’s IRSE Minor Railways Section S&T Technician of the Year Award 2023, an excellent way to reward and recognise the work of the hard working staff members and volunteers that make up the S & T departments on minor railways, in particular the designers, installers and testers.

IRSE professional exam day
7 October 2023, worldwide
Over 350 candidates will be sitting one or more of the IRSE exam modules remotely, monitored by remote invigilation and anti-plagiarism software.
The Certificate in Railway Control Engineering Fundamentals is relevant not only to S&T engineers, but also to those working in other areas of railway operations and engineering who interface with signalling and telecoms equipment and colleagues. To find out more click here.
The Advanced Diploma in Railway Control Engineering is the new name for the IRSE Professional Exam. It covers the same syllabus at the same depth, providing one of the main pathways to IRSE corporate membership and can also provide additional qualifications for professional registration.
